 | On the Origin of Sour | Daily notes, August 15th, 1992 Employee 502 – Raw Science Research Division
The behavior of “extreme” flavors in miniaturization—their tremendous power—clearly owes itself to the presence of raw science particles.
At this scale, they seem to have an ambient effect in the environment. More research needed on this. Are the particles too diluted at regular scale? What is the optimal dilution rate of Raw Science in an enclosed environment? In theory, by controlling the total amount of raw science, we could generate effects at any size... A dangerous train of thought…
But if we want to leverage our discoveries for defense applications, this fundamental issue needs to be resolved. Everything hinges on the scalability of our work. Otherwise, all we’ve created is a swarm of easily crushable weapons of mild destruction. | Key Items | |
 | One Last Pit Stop | Well... there's no way around it. If you're listening to this log, I am likely dead. We anticipated the darkness, the pressure, the aggressive wildlife, even the killer robots. But I wasn't prepared for how badly maintained the authentication network would be. It's a matter of days, hours even, before this whole thing collapses on itself. And no one will be left to reboot it. If the network shuts down while I'm inside, I'll be trapped there. Turning back isn’t an option. And even if it was, I’ve come this far… I’ve come this far… | Key Items | |
