 | A Fortuitous Beginning | Employee 51, personal log, June 8th, 1992.
Who would have ever thought that I, a humble corporate scientist, would make history as the very first researcher in charge of taming insects! Mrs. Beaumont confirmed it: this has NEVER been done before, and I’m inclined to believe her. She has full access to months of park records. They say this company never throws away anything!
Black ants are a great first target. They are social insects, sturdy enough to be exploited, but not so dangerous that we would need extensive protective gear. A smart choice!
We will have a breakthrough soon! I simply know it! | Notes | |

 | An Official Proposal | I, Employee 362 of the Candy Processing Facility, would like to submit for review this official proposal for the maintenance and cleanup of environmental hazards originating in our installations.
We have all seen the reports about sour flavors popping up in random places in the garden. This is undeniably due to our carelessness. We must address this issue at once or face environmental degradation across the garden.
I propose using fauna resistant to the effects of sour (namely ladybugs, a sturdy peaceful insect). By simply mounting a water cannon on the back of one, we could dilute pools of concentrated sour, rendering them entirely or mostly harmless.
I believe research efforts are ongoing in other parts of the park to domesticate insects. As soon as they figure out how to tame them, we will be ready with equipment to turn them into a veritable sour fighting brigade.
This will be my first and final proposal for the cleanup efforts. – Employee 362 | Notes | Candy Lab |

 | Applied O.G.R.R. Test 3 | Category: Arthropod (Live) Date: 08.28.92, 10:18 AM Location: O.G.R.R. Labs Subject: Red Ant Worker Mutator Response: None Observed Supervising Scientist: Employee 221
Experiment Report: Test number three (of no doubt many) was inconclusive, once again. Injection of fungal mutators into live arthropod tissue yielded no observable result.
Employee 352 was able to restrain the captured specimen as 418 breached the exoskeleton to inject fungal samples (progress, arguably), but even after an observation period, the mutators do not appear to have the same effect on live specimen than what we observed on locally grown Cucurbitaceae. Insects are not gourds, go figure!
Our current leading theory is that a mutagenic vector might be required to produce the kinds of tissue growth we’ve observed in pumpkin seeds, ideally combined with some sort of conductive solution to spread the enhanced tissue production through the creature.
But this is all a shot in the dark. We received an impossible task on frighteningly short deadlines. What were they thinking?! | Notes | O.G.R.R. Labs |

 | Boiled Science | Category: Raw Science Processing Date: 08.18.92 Time: 02:47 AM Energy input: 0.3 kW Duration: 40s Subject: 50 mL of plasmic SNPI-42Z particle (Raw Science) Location: [REDACTED] Supervising Scientist: Employee ID 554
Pre-Test Notes Following updated grilling protocol instructions acquired through proprietary archival data, we hope to process upwards of five times the previous known limit quantity of Raw Science using water as a medium. This time it's the right one, boys.
Results The updated grilling protocol we obtained appears to have been somehow deficient. The experiment proceeded as planned until superheated water vapor disturbed the stabilized plasma and caused a catastrophic release of energy. Be glad we conduct those experiments at night, otherwise we'd have an eyewitness issue to solve. | Notes | Network Center |
