-The presence of a compartment from the Cicada itself (rather than a lander module) suggests the ship may have broken apart violently
-Corrosion and weathering make it difficult to determine the exact circumstances of the fragment's arrival
-Tool marks indicate partial salvage has been attempted, but the tools are not of Alterra manufacture
