Is Grounded 2 on Xbox Game Pass?
Obsidian Entertainment’s new entry, Grounded 2 is launching into Early Access 29th July 2025. Largely known as a huge success for Xbox, the original Grounded paved the way for a fun and unique take on the Co-op Survival genre – Grounded 2 is aiming to do the same, although in a bigger (or smaller?) and better way. Within the community, there is one important question that a lot of players have on their mind – “Is Grounded 2 on Xbox Game Pass?”
Will Grounded 2 be on the Xbox Game Pass?
It is confirmed that Grounded 2 will come to the Xbox Game Pass day 1 of the Early Access Launch. Owners of the Game Pass can rejoice, as this is a huge title to add to your library. Game Pass access extends to both the console (Xbox Series S and X) Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and Xbox PC Game Pass. As a result, keep this in mind if you’re a console player that you’ll need more than the standard version of Game Pass to enjoy Grounded 2!
Other ways to play Grounded 2 Early Access
Fortunately, Grounded 2 is not limited to only Xbox or the Game Pass. Instead, you’ll be able to hop back into the shrunken adventures through a few additional methods. For example, you do not require the Xbox Game Pass to be able to play Grounded 2 – you can simply purchase the game fully from the Microsoft Store to keep. Another option is to buy on a different platform altogether. Even though the Xbox Game Pass is known for being one of the “best deals in gaming” – plenty of players prefer to own their games – and that is okay!
Is Grounded 2 on Steam?
Grounded 2 is confirmed to be available to purchase on Steam, July 29th 2025. This may not come as a surprise to existing Grounded players that own the original on Steam. However, having the option to play on Steam is always a welcomed choice from Obsidian Entertainment. Below is the existing purchase options via Steam:
- Standard Early Access for $29.99
- Founder’s Edition Early Access for $39.99 (this version includes cosmetics, emotes, digital soundtracks and more!)
Will Grounded 2 come to PS5 or Nintendo Switch 2?
Currently, there is no confirmation on whether or not Grounded 2 will actually launch on the PS5 or the Nintendo Switch 2. However, it has had some hints and nudges towards being a possibility. Obsidian Entertainment themselves stated they’ll decide cross-platform related choices earlier in their development cycle this time around. As a result, keep checking back for updated release information for these platforms.
