Where to Get Motors in ARC Raiders (Fast & Safe Farming Guide)
Motors are a required crafting component to upgrade the Refiner Station to level 3, which is the final upgrade for this workstation. You’ll need a total of three Motors, and while they can appear across multiple maps, the Blue Gate map offers the safest and most consistent way to farm them—especially for solo players.
This method focuses on breaching vehicles along a low-risk route, allowing you to gather Motors quickly without needing heavy combat or expensive loadouts.
Why You Need Motors
To complete the Refiner Station level 3 upgrade, you’ll need the following materials:
- 3× Motor
- 10× ARC Circuitry
- 6× Bombardier Cell
This upgrade significantly improves refining efficiency and unlocks late-game crafting paths, making Motors a progression blocker for many players.

Best Location to Farm Motors: Blue Gate
Although Motors can technically drop elsewhere, the Blue Gate map consistently provides the best balance of safety, speed, and loot density. The key advantage here is the number of breachable vehicles, which share a loot pool capable of spawning Motors and other high-value mechanical components.

Step 1: Prepare a Safe Pocket Loadout
Before loading in, equip a loadout that includes a Safe Pocket. Motors are rare enough that you don’t want to risk losing one to an unexpected fight or ARC encounter.
Once a Motor is secured in your Safe Pocket, it’s guaranteed to return home with you—even if the run goes wrong.

Step 2: Load Into Blue Gate and Head to the Collapsed Highway
After spawning into Blue Gate, move toward the Collapsed Highway area (Bottom of the map). This route runs toward the checkpoint zone and contains a high concentration of vehicles while remaining relatively quiet compared to interior paths.
Avoid tunnel routes if possible. While they can lead to additional loot, they often spawn dangerous enemies and attract more Raiders, increasing risk unnecessarily.

Step 3: Breach Vehicles Along the Highway Route
As you move along the highway toward the checkpoint, breach every car hood you find. Motors spawn inside vehicle containers, though the drop is not guaranteed.

Some cars will be empty or contain other items, but this stretch of the map offers enough vehicles that you can usually find one to two Motors per run with good RNG. This route can also drop Lightbulbs, making it useful for Expedition Project progression as well.

Step 4: Secure the Motor and Extract
As soon as you find a Motor, place it directly into your Safe Pocket. Once you’ve cleared nearby vehicles or secured what you need, head straight to extraction.
One of the biggest advantages of this route is how close extraction points are, allowing for fast, repeatable runs without crossing high-risk zones. Most players will complete this requirement in just a few short sessions.

Extra Tips for Efficient Motor Runs
If you choose to push past the checkpoint area, be aware that a Bombardier often patrols this zone. If you come prepared, destroying it allows you to collect Bombardier Cells, letting you progress multiple upgrade requirements in a single run.
If you plan to do this, bringing a Raider Hatch Key is highly recommended. It allows for a safer and faster extraction after securing both Motors and Bombardier Cells, reducing the risk of losing valuable materials to other Raiders.
For pure Motor farming, sticking to the highway route is safest—but for multitasking upgrades, pushing past the checkpoint can be very efficient.
