A Toxic Trail ARC Raiders Quest Guide
To complete A Toxic Trail in Arc Raiders, you’ll need to visit the contaminated water spot just North-West of the Water Treatment Control Building on Dam Battlegrounds, then follow the swamp water until you find a half-submerged Saboteur’s Truck with some barrels. You will need to take a Photo of the truck and Search the Truck for clues of Saboteur’s Identity.
The new update for ARC Raiders has dropped, and with it comes a new quest called “A Toxic Trail.” This mission asks you to investigate who contaminated the water supply, but the instructions can be a bit vague if you don’t remember the exact locations from previous missions. Here is a quick, step-by-step guide to get it done fast.

Step 1: Return to the Water Intake
Your first objective is to “return to the water intake below the Water Treatment Control building.” If you’ve done the earlier quest “Source of the Contamination,” you’ve been here before.
- Map: Dam Battlegrounds
- Location: Head to the Water Treatment Control building. Go to the North-West side of the building, near the swampy area.
- Objective: Look for a large puddle or water intake pipe with a toxic barrel floating in it. Simply visiting this specific spot will tick off the first part of the quest.
Step 2: Find the Truck in the Swamp
Once you’ve visited the intake, your objective updates to “search the swamp for traces of the barrel’s origins.” You don’t have to go far.
- From the water intake, head straight West into the swamp.
- Look for a truck stuck in the mud/water. It’s carrying barrels similar to the one you just saw.
- Action: Approach the truck and interact with the prompt to take a photo of it. You can do this from either side, so pick the one that offers better cover from ARC or other players.
Step 3: Identity of the Saboteur & Free Key
After taking the photo, you’ll get the final objective: “search the truck for clues about the saboteur’s identity.”
- Go to the front cabin of the truck.
- Interact with the door/cabin to search it.
Crucial Tip: Searching the truck will complete the quest, but it also drops a Spaceport Warehouse Key. While the quest doesn’t strictly *require* you to pick it up to finish, this is a valuable item.
This key unlocks a door on the upper walkway of the Shipping Warehouse on Spaceport, which often contains high-tier loot. Make sure you grab it and put it in your Safe Pocket immediately. Even if you don’t need it now, it might be required for a future quest or just for a profitable loot run later.
Step 4: Extract from A Toxic Trail in Arc Raiders (Optional)
Once you’ve searched the truck, the quest “A Toxic Trail” is complete! You do not technically need to extract to finish the mission, but if you want to keep that Spaceport Warehouse Key (and any other loot you found), you should head to the nearest extraction point.
