How the Bullrush Quest Begins
This helpful quest is given to you by Old Noakes, the resident fisherman of Bywater. He’s concerned that overgrown bullrushes are bothering his favorite fish, whom he affectionately calls “Mr. Fishie.” He’ll ask you to clear out the weeds from the shoreline to make the area more comfortable for his aquatic friend.
Finding and Clearing the Bullrushes in Tales of the Shire
Many hobbits get stuck on this quest because the bullrushes don’t look like the tall, cattail-style plants you might expect. Instead, in Tales of the Shire, they appear as round, brown weeds that look very similar to tumbleweeds. You don’t need any special tools to clear them. The weeds are located right next to the water’s edge in the same area where Old Noakes gives you the quest, near Sandyman’s Mill. Simply approach each one and interact with it to remove it. Once you’ve cleared them all, the quest will be complete.
