The chinchompa is a nature’s bad joke, a weird branch of evolution that makes very little sense. The creature contains, within its body, a number of organs containing various chemicals and, when the creature feels its life is in danger, it combines these chemicals and immediately explodes.
It is assumed that these creatures must have some sort of communal sense of responsibility, martyring themselves for the sake of their herd. Yet chinchompas will happily explode when they’re the only one present, making it a someone pointless moment of self-sacrifice.
Most sane creatures avoid chinchompas where possible, for very obvious reasons.
They are, however, worryingly cute. A fact that has caused trouble for many Brynmoor children. It can be very upsetting when the family pet explodes, taking most of the house with it.
