Obsidian Cape Description
Obsidian Cape is a tier 4 cape, unlocked by studying the Plate of Pure Obsidian vestige. Black as cooled lava, this cape radiates a faint, lingering heat. It provides a small boost to Defence.
Lore
Once this cape was part of the shell of a KotHaar you’d befriended - Zi. It sounds cruel to wear the skin of one’s friend, but the KotHaar do not have flesh like you and I sometimes do, instead they wrap themselves in layers of magma and obsidian, until they have a strong enough form to move around in.
What a KotHaar really is, is a tiny fragment of the creature you see. They are the core, a mote of consciousness that can be crushed down and down to a surprisingly small size. Their carapace, what we might call this body, is almost irrelevant to them, in the grand scheme of things. They feel no pain, no loss when it is taken from them, so don’t be too sad about your weird little friend giving you theirs.
Wear the skin of your friend with pride, adventurer! They would love nothing more than to know that at least part of them is joining you on your adventures.
