Arc Raiders

You can farm Bully Fragmenters and Skulker Targeters in ARC Raiders without fighting by looting ARC Couriers, which players report drop both parts. Loot every Courier you find on a light run, ideally on a map with the Electromagnetic Storm condition, and check any Husks you pass for extra chances.

How to Get Bully Fragmenters and Skulker Targeters Without Fighting

Looting ARC Couriers is reported to be a low-risk way to collect both parts, and a few Husks add extra chances along the route. Embark has not published drop rates and drops are not guaranteed, so plan on checking several Couriers in every raid and keeping a running count.

The route below keeps each run focused on movement:

  1. Pick a map: Queue for a map with the Electromagnetic Storm condition if one is active. Otherwise, any normal map works, including Pendola Pass.
  2. Pack light: Bring a cheap kit and your mobility tools, because this route is about covering ground quickly.
  3. Sweep for Couriers: Move through the map and loot every ARC Courier you find, checking each one for Bully Fragmenters and Skulker Targeters.
  4. Check Husks on the way: Loot any Husks you pass for extra chances at parts.
  5. Extract and repeat: Take your parts home, then run again until you have the count your Research Station level needs.

Because both parts come from the same Couriers, you can work on both Research Station levels in the same run, so loot every Courier you pass.

Research Station Upgrade Requirements

Research Station level 2 needs 5 Skulker Targeters, and level 3 needs 6 Bully Fragmenters, plus other materials at each level. These requirements match the upgrade data in our Workshop and Stash Progression database, and Embark’s patch notes do not list the upgrade costs, so no official figure is available.

Research Station levelARC partOther materials
Level 25 Skulker Targeters3 Calculators, 3 Raider Logbooks
Level 36 Bully Fragmenters3 Differential Microphones, 3 Exodus Technical Handbooks

Our database also lists 5 Bully Fragmenters in Anvil Blueprint crafting and 10 Skulker Targeters in Canto Blueprint crafting, so spare parts still have a use.

Embark’s Frozen Trail preview calls the station the Research Workstation, while the 2.0 patch notes call it the research station. Queue for Couriers to fill the ARC part column, then gather the other materials in the table.

Where to Find ARC Couriers

Players report that ARC Couriers also spawn under normal map conditions, but a map with the Electromagnetic Storm condition gives you a better chance of finding more. The condition is described as rare, so you can still farm under normal conditions, including on Pendola Pass, the new Frozen Trail map.

Our ARC Raiders Event Timers page lists the storm’s effects: fewer active Return Points, no active Raider Hatches, increased loot value, and lightning strikes that deal damage. Use our ARC Raiders Interactive Map to plan a loop, but treat map data and timers as estimates that do not guarantee an identical raid.

Example Scenario (hypothetical): Two maps are available, and only one has the Electromagnetic Storm condition. You queue for the storm map and plan your extraction around the missing Raider Hatches.

Best Loadout and Skills for Courier Farming Runs

A cheap, light loadout with mobility tools suits Courier runs best, because you are covering ground rather than winning fights. Put a few extra Skill Tree points into mobility and stamina, and bring only the weapon and healing you need for Husks and stray ARC on the way.

The Skill Tree was reworked in the same update, and the patch notes do not describe any mobility-specific changes. These changes from the Frozen Trail 2.0 update matter most on a long sweep:

  • Stamina skills: Stamina gained from Fight or Flight rose by about 25% per level, and Stubborn Mule stamina regen rose by about 33%. Both help when you run laps between Couriers.
  • Snap Hook: Range dropped from 20m to 18m, durability cost rose from 2% to 4% per use, and power cost rose from 50 to 60. Spend it on long gaps and hills rather than short hops.
  • Ladders: You can no longer sprint-climb ladders when exhausted, so keep some stamina in reserve before a climb.
  • Weapon and healing: A low-cost weapon and basic healing are enough for Husks and stray ARC.

Before you queue, set your stamina and movement skills in our Skill Tree builder.

Extra Loot to Grab While You Farm

Rocketeer Husks and lightning strikes are the two side drops worth checking during a farming run if they are close. Rocketeer Husks are reported to carry Launcher Ammo, and Electromagnetic Storm lightning strikes can also leave Fossilized Lightning, which early reports link to crafting X-Round Amplified weapons.

The Rocketeer’s loot in our database lists Launcher Ammo, and whether other Husk types drop it is TBC. Electromagnetic Storm lightning strikes deal damage, so approach each strike with care, and the drop odds for Fossilized Lightning are TBC.

The 2.0 patch notes confirm the Anvil’s rarity rose from Green to Blue and the Anvil Splitter became an upgrade for the Amplified Anvil. Hold any Fossilized Lightning you find until you know which Amplified weapon you want.

Courier Farming vs Fighting the Bully and Skulker

Courier looting costs you time rather than ammo, while fighting costs you ammo, gear, and health against enemies built to pressure you. The preview calls the Bully an aggressive machine that cedes no ground, and the Skulker an opportunistic enemy that lies in wait at the edge of your vision.

MethodWhat you doMain costPart drops
Looting CouriersLoot Couriers and a few Husks across the mapTime spent movingReported, rate unpublished
Killing a BullyFight a BullyAmmo, gear, and healthReported as a direct source, TBC
Killing a SkulkerFight a SkulkerAmmo, gear, and healthReported as a direct source, TBC

Example Scenario (hypothetical): You enter a raid with a full kit and a Skulker shows itself near a Courier. You take the fight only if you can end it quickly, then return to looting Couriers.

Loot Couriers first and fight only when an enemy blocks your route. Skip any fight that is not worth the ammo.

What is Still Unconfirmed

This guide is current as of the Frozen Trail 2.0 update from October 8, 2026, and Embark’s patch notes do not cover the Courier method, so several details are still TBC:

  • Drop rates: How often a Courier drops each part, and how many parts one Courier can give.
  • Husk drops: Which Husk types can drop parts.
  • Electromagnetic Storm: How much it increases Courier spawns, and when it next appears.
  • Fossilized Lightning: The X-Round recipe.
  • Mobility skills: Whether the Skill Tree rework changed how many points you can put into movement skills.

Note the parts you find on each run so you can judge the real drop rate for yourself.

Turn Courier Loot into Research Station Upgrades

You can now collect Skulker Targeters and Bully Fragmenters in ARC Raiders without fighting a Bully or Skulker. Queue for a map with the Electromagnetic Storm if one is up, pack light, and loop the map for Couriers.

Aim for 5 Skulker Targeters first to open level 2, then 6 Bully Fragmenters for level 3. Both parts come from the same runs, so fill both lists as you go.

When the upgrades are done, head to the Outpost to amplify your weapons to the fifth tier, and keep any Fossilized Lightning you find on the way.

FAQs

Is the ARC Raiders PvE Toggle safer for farming Bully Fragmenters and Skulker Targeters?

Yes, the ARC Raiders PvE Toggle beta removes player threats, with zero player-to-player damage from October 13 to 20, 2026. Embark lowers overall loot value in PvE and excludes some major conditions, plus Night Raids, Hidden Bunker, Locked Gate, and the Frigate, so the Electromagnetic Storm may be unavailable.

How do you unlock the Research Station in ARC Raiders?

You unlock the Research Station in ARC Raiders by completing the project that unlocks the Outpost, per Embark’s 2.0 patch notes. The first step, Research Topside Living Conditions, requires a photo of a farmland house, and the Camera is sold at Shani’s, craftable at the Workbench, or found Topside.

What happens to Bully Fragmenters and Skulker Targeters if you die in ARC Raiders?

You lose Bully Fragmenters and Skulker Targeters in ARC Raiders if you are eliminated before extracting, unless they are stored in your safe pocket. Move your parts into the safe pocket straight away if they fit, then extract to bring everything else back to your stash.

Can you change your Skill Tree choices after the Frozen Trail update?

Yes, you can reset your ARC Raiders Skill Tree and make a branch choice again, per Embark’s 2.0 patch notes. Each branch has a binary choice between two skills in the middle and lets you take up to two of three skills at the end, so plan movement skills first.

Does the Dynamic Loot Zone change loot on Pendola Pass in ARC Raiders?

Embark has not confirmed what the Dynamic Loot Zone changes. The 2.0 patch notes say the studio is testing the system, currently exclusive to Pendola Pass, without explaining its effect on loot or ARC spawns, so log your own Courier results there and treat early reports with caution.
